The ingredients used to make these bands are N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamideand picaridin which is an alternative to DEET. These ingredients are very effective on mosquitoes but they are also known to be harmful to the wearers and cause side effects. These side effects are nothing major but still it is not good to let it cause this minimal damage to your body. The good news however is that these side effects only take place when the ant repellent bands are used constantly. If the bands are used once in a way nothing is bound to happen. Sometimes these bands stop working soon as they get wet. Children should not put them in their mouth and precautions must be taken to prevent this.
Natural insect repellent band – the natural substances can also be used to make these useful mosquito repellent bands. The bands sometimes are even made with insecticides which ensure that you never see any kinds of insects around you. Some of the natural substances used are eucalyptus oil, castor oil, peppermint, Indian lilac oil, tea tree oil, garlic and even cinnamon. All of these ensure that you are ever bitten by these deadly bugs which carry diseases around. There is one drawback of using natural insect repellent bands and that is that they cannot be expected to last for too long. Five days is the maximum that you can expect t to last and this is one factor that makes it highly inconvenient to use. However on the other hand these bands are safer than the artificial bands which are also available. Spending your cash on this is not a bad investment when you think of the down side of using the artificial ones.
